His journey of dedicated service began in 2008 at the Cypress Hill Local Development Corporation in East New York, a pivotal step that ignited a remarkable path of community engagement and empowerment. Driven by a profound dedication to his hometown, Angus took the initiative to establish Innovative Resilience East Brooklyn Village Inc.

The Fatherhood Roundtable gave us a safe space to share, learn, and advocate for change. Together, we’re building stronger family bonds and pushing for equality within the system. It’s more than a program—it’s a movement for every father in our community.
When our building had no heat for weeks, InnRes EBV helped us organize a tenant association. Together, we got results the very next month. It showed me the power we have when we unite for what’s right.
As a small shop owner, I used to feel isolated. The Merchant Association Network connected me to other business owners and gave us collective visibility. I’ve grown my customer base and feel supported by a community that wants us all to succeed.

Recognizing that current laws haven't kept pace with modern family dynamics, creating systemic inequities, particularly for Black fathers, our mission is clear: to enact change. Through shared testimonies and collaborative efforts, we're developing a legislative bill focused on Equal Parental Rights, Addressing Systemic Bias, and Supporting Father Involvement. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to strengthening families and ensuring every parent has an equitable voice.
